About Me...
Passionate reader of various genres except horror. I was that kid with the flashlight under the covers, reading when I should have been sleeping. I love to read, talk about what I've read and just hang out with other readers.
I have the Shifter anthology but still need to read Lora Leigh's Breed books and Alyssa Day's Warriors of Poseidon series before Shifter. Currently reading Tanner's Scheme by Leigh and Atlantis Rising by Day. Day's is the first I've read of hers. The concept is interesting but her writing is a bit choppy at times. The flow could be better. Leigh's is the standard Breed book - good with a lot of hot sex scenes. Sometimes I think they get in the way of the story.
I just finished the first three books of this series. The author is Colleen Gleason. It's a historical series set in the regency period. The series claims to be "Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Jane Austen". For me the series started off a bit slow but by the second book I was anxiously waiting for the rest of the story. It is not a typical HEA but a continuing story with the same main characters. The pseudo love triangle of Victoria/Sebastian/Max keeps me guessing. The fourth book When Twilight Burns comes out in August.
Finished Dream Chaser. It was very good, much like earlier Kenyon Dark Hunter books. The main characters were interesting and played well off each other. The quality of the writing gives me hope that Acheron will live up to all the hype.
Finished reading Upon a Midnight Clear by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It was good but a very short book. It should have been in an anthology. There was an addition short story at the end. It was a holiday story that caught up with some of the characters from previous books. Amy/Fang/Fury & group. Kyrian/Amanda/Nick. Ash/Katra/Sin. Picking up Dream Chaser on Wednesday.
Finished reading Emma Holly's Fairyville. Not what I was expecting. Good but different. Now on to Sherrilyn Kenyon's Upon the Midnight Clear. I've had this in my TBR pile since shortly after it came out last November. Just haven't gotten around to reading it. I did read some not so good reviews of it. It is short with large fonts. Glad I didn't pay full price but got it at UBS. I've decided to read it now because the library is holding Dream Chaser for me and I want to read UtMC before DC. I have heard that DC is very good.
The blog http://peoplereading.blogspot.com/ gives an interesting look at what people around San Francisco are reading. Also gives short interviews with the readers. Why they are reading what they are and some of their favorite books.
